the road to success

After reading this quote by Oprah Winfrey, I began to think more about the class discussion over Karl Marx. Whereas many jobs make the employees unhappy and lead workers to live a monotonous life full of eat-sleep-work, Oprah is referencing finding your species-being. Finding that internal fire, that creative drive, that make us human. When we find a job that encapsulates our species-being we enjoy getting paid to do the job, but at the same time we wouldn’t mind if it was unpaid. This makes it seem possible to find a happy medium of being stuck in a failing capitalistic society and finding our species-being.
